World Monitoring Day is celebrated annually on October 18th, the anniversary of the signing of the Clean Water Act. The water quality testing includes dissolved oxygen, acidity (ph), turbidity and temperature. In 2006, SPLASH member City of Littleton headed up this effort at their Littleton/Englewood Wastewater Treatment Plant on October 19th (close enough!), where over 350 participants enjoyed sampling, a water quality videao, and visiting the exhibits (including SPLASH booth and Enviroscape model). Students from local area schools ranged from 4th grade through High School.
