Arapahoe County SPLASH

Western Welcome Week Festival Day is an annual “homecoming” celebration that brings many Arapahoe County residents together to nurture community spirit and commemorate the idea that we should ‘all come home’ to celebrate the past, present and future of our communities.  The SPLASH group invites all the festival attendees to stop by the booth and explore opportunities to positively impact the present and future stormwater quality in their community. 

SPLASH members host the booth throughout the day to provide information and answers to any questions regarding the public’s role in protecting the water quality of our waterways and reservoirs.  You only have to look to see residents enjoying the trails along Big Dry Creek and Little Dry Creek in Centennial, along Little’s Creek in downtown Littleton, along Cherry Creek in Glendale, Centennial and Arapahoe County, and along the South Platte in Littleton, Englewood, and Sheridan, to realize that our drainageways are vital to our community.  This vitality is in no small part due to the abundance of healthy riparian areas that provide wildlife corridors and a place for people to enjoy open space.  This vitality is also directly affected by the quality of the stormwater runoff that enters the streams from the storm drains in each neighborhood.
